November 2017
Web Production, Brand Design
My friends Jake and Dave host a podcast about the American University basketball team (obscure, I know) and asked if I’d be willing to help revamp their website. Their site used Squarespace, which I’d never worked with before, so I was interested in trying it out and seeing how easily I could manipulate the templates. I found it so easy to use I later built out my portfolio with it (which you are reading right now).
The Redesign
They emphasized they wanted a few things: a list of their latest posts featured up top, a more accessible list of tags, and a post format that didn’t take up so much real estate on the page. Using Squarespace’s various customization tools, I was able to give them all three features.
The Old Site
Before my redesign, the site was functional but clunky, with the need for lots and lots of page scrolling.
Branding
I enjoyed this project so much I even gave them a new visual identity, with a logo and new feature font (both naturally in AU Eagles colors).
